From doing this research I have found out many different ways in which magazine publishers attract and audience and what techniques they use to do this.

History of Music Magazines

From researching into the history of music magazines I collected information on what music were published first and when they developed the magazines further.

Analysis of Q Magazine

Analysis of Q on PhotoPeach From analysing a Q magazine I now understand what sort of contents is needed on the front cover and double page spreads so I will use this knowledge in the designing and planning of my own magazine.

Institutional Video

From producing this institutional video I have discovered which institutions publish which magazines and the various techniques institutions use to sell these. This information will help me when I come to produce my own magazine.

Institutional Research

From doing this research I been able to get an understanding of what the average price of magazines are and what sort genres are covered by these. This grid has also helped me to understand more of the business side of magazines such as the weekly or monthly circulation.

Front Cover Analysis

From researching and analysing front covers of music magazines found out information on the layout of front covers and their contents, I have also seen that nearly all of the have a large photo of either a single artist or a group. I will take this information that I have found out into consideration when i am producing my own music magazine.

From carrying out my research I have found out that the use of bright or bold colours means that the magazine cover is more attractive and more eye catching so there is a greater chance that it will be noticed. I also found out that the layout of the pages is important as it can either intrigue or put you of a magazine.

School Magazine Research

From this research I have found out that bold mastheads are appealing and and that they can grab the readers attention. I've also found out that the use of colours is very important for example bright colours will catch the eye of a reader more than bland colours. Finally I have also found out that the layout of the text and pictures is important as it can make understanding the page very easy or quite difficult.
