From creating this mind map it has made think in a lot more depth about what I want my magazine to be like and what it will be about. It has help me to choose a genre, name and some features that I will include in my magazine. I also now have a better idea of who I will be targeting my magazine to.

Picture Research

From researching different images from different magazines I have gain valuable knowledge on what sort of photos to use and how these photos will be taken, for example mid shots, close ups and long shots.

From researching the format of another magazines front cover, contents page and a double page spread it has help me to gain a better understanding of what is needed in these pages and where things are positioned normally. 

Representation

From researching and looking at front covers of different magazines it has helped me to understand what format is appropriate and what fonts/font sizes are used in industry. From this I have gained information which will help me produce  my own magazine.

NME Flatplan

By producing a flat plan of an NME magazine I have gained valuable knowledge on what sort of content goes into a magazine and what things they write about.  I will use this as I want to make a magazine that is of similar genre.

Mood Board Video

From doing this mood board research task it has helped me to find out what sort of photos are eye catching and grab the attention of the reader. So i now have a better understanding of what kind of photos do this.

Contents and Double page check list

By doing this contents page research I have gained a lot of information on what sort of text and pictures are used. The information I gained by doing this will be very useful when I come to design and plan my own magazine.
From doing some research into the contents in a double page spread I now have more knowledge on what goes into producing them and what sort of things are spoken about, again this research will be very useful when I come to do my planning for my own magazine.

By conducting this research I've gained a better understanding on how magazines are presented in a shop and why. This will also help me design my front cover when I come to make my own magazine as only the top half of the magazine will be seen unless its at the front.

Rate Card Analysis

By looking at two different magazine rate cards its given me an understanding on who each of their audiences are and how many of this read it regularly. I was also surprised with a few figures such as the total circulation. From doing this research I know have a better understanding of how to address my target market.
